Oil Filters

Flexolite’s oil filter range is listed with key dimension information as well as details of diaphragm, anti-drain and relief valve functionality where applicable. Relief valves are situated on the bottom end cap of the filter element inside the metallic housing and ensures release of overpressure that could be created in the housing resulting from cold starts (high oil viscosity due to low temperatures). Another reason for relief valve operation is contamination of the filter media from dirt due to late service intervals. Anti-drain valves/rubber diaphragms ensure that filter remain full with oil – so readily available once the engine re-starts.
