Double eared 'O' clips are designed specifically for the fastening of any flexible hose or tube to a rigid connection where permanent, reliable and high performance joints are required. They are widely used for maintenance and OEM applications, mainly on air, fluid, gas, steam lines and hydraulic applications. Flexolite 'O' clips are made from zinc plated W1 to exacting engineering standards so they may be used in both static and dynamic applications under both internal and exposed conditions. Important Considerations
Selection of the correct size of O clip is essential. The inside diameter of the clip should be approximately 1/64” larger than the overall diameter of the tube plus fitting to obtain maximum joint efficiency.
To achieve the correct results as shown above it is recommended that pincers rather than ordinary pliers are used. Purpose designed O clip pincers with induction hardened jaws are available from Flexolite.

The maximum application pressure can vary depending on the type of hose used and the geometry of the coupling.
One of the most popular clips in the market. Most often they will be rubber lined using a 1.5mm thick E. P. D. M. rubber. The lined ‘P’ clip offers the user two advantages over the plain version. Firstly, the rubber protects the hose from the steel or stainless steel of the ‘P’ clip. Secondly, the rubber provides an anti-vibration / noise reduction through its cushioning effect. This has been found to be a great advantage in automotive applications, where rubber lined ‘P’ clips are used extensively and to great effect.
The E. P. D. M. rubber liner offers the user of the ‘P’ clip excellent heat resistance. From a freezing -40 deg C right up to 140 deg C, E. P. D. M. also offers excellent abrasion, weather, aging and ozone resistance as well as UV stability.

Fixing the clips can sometimes be challenging, however with the ½” band width design, difficulty is considerably reduced by the introduction of an elongated fixing hole on the front of the clip. This gives the user a far greater ability to locate the fixing screw / bolt than using 2 round holes or having the elongated hole on the back of the clip.
For strength, all sizes and band widths employ a strengthening ‘joggle’ located on the back of the clip. This means that where the rubber liner is flush with the clip, there is not just a simple ‘S’ curve in the metal, but a ‘joggle’ or finger that breaks this step in two, providing greater strength.

This U. S. A. designed worm drive hose clip, slips in where others are simply too big to fit. Employing a narrow 5/16” (8mm) band width and smaller screw size 1/4” (6mm), it can fit into places that the ‘traditional’ wide band clips cannot be used.
Manufactured from stainless steel, and using the ‘slotted’ band design, the clip offers the user a great deal of strength as ‘the entire band’ is caught on the screw threads and not just half. The housing is shorter, which gives the user a far greater size range that each clip can be used for and starts from a tiny 6mm (1/4”).
